Class Information
Beginners Upholstery Class

Cost: $500
Length: 5-6 weeks ~20 hours
Class Size: 5 students
​
In our beginners class, you will complete four, instructor-designed projects that each teach fundamental elements of upholstery. The skills you learn can be applied to larger projects in the future. No experience is required.
​
You will learn to use an industrial, walking-foot sewing machine, pneumatic stapler, and other tools common to upholstery. You will install zippers and grommets, make piping, and more.
​
Beginners class sessions run on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings in fall and winter months.

Wednesday Evening Session
Runs Wednedays from 6pm-9pm for six weeks
Begins September 11th or October 23rd
Saturday Morning Session
Runs Saturdays from 9am-1pm for five weeks
Begins September 14th or October 19th

Intermediate Upholstery Shop Time
​
**Typically, we require students to complete the beginners class before becoming eligible for intermediate shop time*
​
-Student provides their own project
​
-Student provides materials (or purchases from school at additional cost)
​
-$25 per hour- pay as you go (at the end of each session)
​
-Pay in Advance: 15% discount for 8 hour bundles- $170
​
-Fee includes use of the shop: sewing machines, air compressor, tools, access to instructor assistance, and storage of your project
​
-Incidental supplies, such as staples, thread, and glue are included
​
-No charge for time spent disassembling/staple pulling
